[NEWS] Chelsea team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Brighton & Hove Albion

Chelsea return to action on Tuesday evening with an important
Premier League fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Blues have spent the past week competing in the Champions
League and FA Cup, progressing past Porto and Manchester City
respectively.

However, with just a three-day turnaround after the recent triumph
at Wembley Stadium, Thomas Tuchel has a number of dilemmas
regarding his team selection.

Andreas Christensen
Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: April 20 (vs. Brighton)

Christensen has been nursing a hamstring injury throughout this
month, an issue which kept him out of Saturday’s FA Cup tie. The
Dane will continue to be assessed ahead of the next fixture.

Mateo Kovacic
Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Muscular
Possible return date: April 20 (vs. Brighton)

When Kovacic sustained a muscular injury last week, Tuchel was
quick to rule the Croatian out of two matches. With just three more
days of recovery time, it would come as a surprise if the midfielder
was involved against the Seagulls.

Thiago Silva
Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Back
Possible return date: April 20 (vs. Brighton)

Despite almost completing the 90 minutes at Wembley, Silva
frequently complained about a back problem. With alternatives at
Tuchel’s disposal, the veteran is expected to stay on the sidelines
for this contest.

CHELSEA’S SUSPENSION LIST
Chelsea have no suspension issues ahead of the game in West
London.
