[NEWS] James Maddison sends message to Chelsea star amid Daniel Amartey touchline clash

Billy Gilmour’s trajectory continues to trend upwards amid
excitement over his future at Chelsea.

The 19-year-old has a bright future ahead, already on the fringes of
the Chelsea starting XI despite Thomas Tuchel having strong
options everywhere on the pitch.

The Blues spent more than £250million in the summer to
strengthen their ranks, and even so, 19-year-old Gilmour has been
called upon the absence of the likes of Mateo Kovacic and N’Golo
Kante in recent weeks.

And as he looks to build on his involvement in Tuchel’s first-team
plans, Gilmour has been handed a call-up to Scotland’s Euro 2020 squad.

It was confirmed on Wednesday that Steve Clarke had called the
youngster up for the competition, which is being held around
Europe as part of the 60th anniversary of the European Championships.

Scotland are competing at a major competition for the first time
since 1998, and Gilmour will be part of that.

Some of Gilmour’s teammates, including Ben Chilwell
congratulated him after the news, and now some of his Premier
League rivals have done the same.

Leicester City and England star James Maddison reached out on
Instagram and said “Well done brother” with a clapping emoji,
while West Ham talent Declan Rice said: “Love it geeza.”

The Maddison reply is particularly interesting given the fallout from
the FA Cup final which saw some bad blood between Chelsea and
Leicester City after Foxes player Daniel Amartey was caught on
video throwing a Blues pennant.

The two clubs played again during the week and a bust-up occurred on the pitch between a large group of players, something
both clubs have been charged with.

Even with that, it seems the bad blood isn’t too lasting.
