[NEWS] Thomas Tuchel sends Roman Abramovich message after Chelsea qualify for Champions League final

Thomas Tuchel says Chelsea’s Champions League final is what
Roman Abramovich deserves.

The Blues look set for an exciting end to the season after beating
Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final in midweek to set
up a final against Man City.

That game will come after an FA Cup final against Leicester City
and the culmination of a tight race for the top four.

No matter how the two finals go, it has undoubtedly been an
impressive opening stint to Tuchel’s Chelsea career after taking
charge in January following Frank Lampard’s sacking, at which
point the team looked rocky defensively and were struggling to find
fluidity in attack.

The German manager has made the Blues defensively resolute and
has also started getting the most out of compatriots Timo Werner
and Kai Havertz in attack – something that appeared to be vital for
any new manager following the club’s big outlay on the two players
last summer.

Tuchel says he has not spoken to Abramovich about how his time
at the Blues is going but speaks regularly with other members of
the Stamford Bridge hierarchy.

He added that he thinks the Blues owner is pleased with how
things are going and that the Russian is deserving of any success
that comes the club’s way.

“I am in touch with the board, I am in touch with all the people who
are in charge,” he said.

“I have no regrets and I am pretty sure he [Abramovich] likes what
he sees and he likes the results. This is what he deserves.

“He has built a fantastic club and I am part of this club. We try to
make him happy and ourselves happy. So we have the same
goals.”
